Lifelong learning is increasingly becoming a necessary competency rather than just an expectation educators have of their students.
At South Ridge High School, we are committed to providing opportunities for students to develop lifelong learning skills. In the age of AI, we have transitioned from competing with our peers, with our fathers, and with those who came after us, to competing with artificial intelligence. This is a leap-like challenge and a litmus test of our educational success.
Competition, however, is only part of life, not all of it. Our life experiences are rich, and that richness comes with lifelong learning as an essential life skill. South Ridge High School offers an open-ended Canadian curriculum, and we rely on this world-recognized, cutting-edge system of teaching and learning to hopefully teach our students not only what they have learned, but how they have learned it and, ultimately, how they can learn for themselves through discovery. We often say that education is the foundation of the future. If the age of AI is to serve only as the beginning of the future, or even the present, the education we provide must fit the needs of the future, or even the present, and this is the meaning of the lifelong learning skills that South Ridge High School is committed to fostering.
We want the students of South Ridge High School to gain enlightenment and new knowledge in our program, where their education is not only their starting line, but also their refueling station for life.
